After serving in the US Navy and working as a tool and die apprentice, Professor Schneider went on to receive a formal manufacturing education: a BS in Industrial Production from Kent State University, an MBA in Industrial Management from Case Western Reserve and a degree in computer technology from Lawrence Technological University. He then practiced his trade with General Motors, Modco-Valenite, Ford, and Dawson
Tool. In 1982, he joined Lawrence Tech's engineering faculty. He has condensed all these years of experience into his latest book, "Cutting Tool Applications."
